Coaching Announcement

The Club would like to formally announce that Colin Dowie has been re-appointed as Head Coach for the 2018 season, with Nadine Dowie as the Team Manager.  Colin and Nadine have a proven record in developing and maintaining the relationships required in running a senior rugby team and were instrumental in the senior team’s progress during the 2017 season.

Colin played rugby in NZ at representative level through his teens and into his twenties. In 2007 Colin and his family moved to Melbourne and joined SDRC.  He has coached his older children in their junior and senior rugby years, and Colin still has one son playing junior rugby with SDRC.

Colin and Nadine were part of the team which took the SDRC Colts to the 2013 finals, where they were runners up against Harlequin.  A number of players from this colts team have continued on to play senior rugby or remain active in the club. Colin has been an active member of the club for over 10 years and also sponsors the club through Mornington Prime Cuts, which provides meat for our BBQ’s and canteen.

Preseason training starts on 7 December at 6:30pm at Riviera Reserve.  All interested players are invited to come and meet, or reconnect with Colin and Nadine.
